The secon type of goods is gold. This is the currency in Anophis.
With gold you can raise new armies, build ships etc. You can acquire gold through taxes or trade.

Treasury

Your treasury is where your gold is stored. Like the food stores the treasury cannot be conquered by enemy Rulers.

Taxes

Every season your tax collectors will visit your citizens to claim taxes. Every 25 citizens will pay 1 unit of gold. The gold will be added to your treasury. In your homeland provinces this tax rate will about between 10 and 100% higher than in all other provinces.
