Armée

The Army

There are 8 types of troops available in Anophis. The following table will show the differences between them:

Troop type Code Melee Ranged fire Defence Movement Cost
Char CHA 4 2 24 4 10
Hache HAC 4 0 16 2 6
Speer SPE 2 0 12 3 3
Archer ARC 1 2 6 3 2
Garnison GAR 2 1 38 0 4
Slinger SLI 1 1 4 3 1
Garde de Shemsu GSH 5 1 20 2 8
Mercennaire de Nubian MNU 3 0 10 3 4

Ranged fire: Effectiveness in ranged combat
Melee: Effectiveness in close combat
Defence: Represents the armour of the troop type
Movement: the maximum number of provinces a troop type can move through in a turn.
Cost: The cost in gold for recruiting a soldier of this type.

Recruit Troop

Available citizens can be recruited into your Army. Every civilian that is recruited will cost the amount of gold listed in the Troop Table above.
Troops can be recruited in any province you control.
All single soldier can be formed to an army. You only can move such armies but not a single soldier.

Generals

Every Ruler in Anophis has 4 Generals available. Without a General, an Army cannot march into enemy or neutral territory.

Movement

Only federations can move over the map. A federation can only move to the next adjacent province, and can then move forward to the next until its movement points are expended.
Every federation has a maximum number of movement points. Each type of troop has a fixed number of movement points. The slowest movement point value from a troop type determines the movement points of a federation.
Example:
If a federation includes some Axt warriors, the federation has 2 movement points, because Axt warriors have only 2 MP.

Neutral or enemy provinces can be entered only by federations that have generals. A general is not necessary to move over your own provinces, or the provinces of allied empires. Moving over the Nile costs 2 movement points.

A general has 6 movement points. Generals can move independently of federations.
They can move over all provinces without any restrictions.

To conquer a neutral province a federation must have a general. To conquer an enemy province, you must have both federation with a general and the status of “war” to the owner of the province. You cannot move into the enemy province on the same turn that you declare war.

Once a federation builds troops, it can no longer move that turn. Federations that attack enemy or neutral provinces can not build troops. However, a federation that moves and finishes its turn on a province you already own can build troops after the movement. Garrison troops have no movement points. Federations with garrison troops cannot move.
